Add lots of marine epoxy to make it bomb proof. Then a little green spray paint on the top turns a ugly worn out coil into a ugly green coil with lots of life left.

should be able to see this one to pinpoint in dirty water fine.

Ahh...Yep, I think you might be right! BUT I think "ugly" should still find some goodies for you.

This detector is about 12 years old and the coil was worn bad. Gave it a thick coat of marine epoxy.
the green is a lot more florecent than it looks n the pic.

It has found a bunch or rings paid for its self many times over.

Only thing that will beat it in the water is a PI and i dig lots of trash with it.
