Thake that axe head and soak it in a tub of Apple Cider Vinegar, after about a week or 2 take it out and scrape off the crust and soak again. You can change the vinegar from time to time if you like, it will speed up the process. Keep doing this untill all the rust is gone. You can then rinse it in hot water and dry on the BBQ on low heat, paint and display.
