WWI collar disc? IH, silver

I haven't had much worth posting this year, but my luck has seemed to change for the better recently. I was hunting a park in St. Paul today and found this button-like object. I don't know much about military relics, but doing a little research, it appears to be a WWI collar disc for field artillery. If anyone else has any additional information on it, I would appreciate any help. My other recent finds include a 1906 IH, which appears in pretty good shape, but needs some more cleaning (just rinsed with water so far). I also found a nice silver ring, stamped 925.

I have my grandfather's WWII collar disc just like this one, but with HQ above the cannons. I know he wasn't in WWI. But it may have been as late as Korea. He served in the Navy and the Army, not sure but I belive the Army during Korea.
