Trying to decide on which coil to get with a new Deus. Don't really do much relic hunting. Been leaning towards the 9" just because i think it will get in trashy areas, but would appreciate any and all opinions. I watched a video on air tests between the two and I didn't see much depth difference. Ground around here is moderate or higher mineralization. Thanks.

I won't be much help as I just got my Deus last week and haven't been able to use it. But I bought I chose the 9" as it seemed to be a happy medium between the standard AT Pro coil and the 5"x8" coil. It seems like a great size.

9" is the best for general usage.

I'm with Vferrari, for parks and such I would go with the 9" coil.

Okay, thanks. Yes, I figured the 9" would do better finding gold in the trashy areas. That air depth video i watched was very impressive.

How old is that video?
Is he testing the old LF or X35 coils?

If you want to be finding gold targets in trashy areas, your best bet would be the HF elliptical or 9" hf round, frankly. Smokey can tell you about how that elliptical sucks gold out of the ground.

I love my 9" X35, of course I have nothing to compare it ti, but it seems to work just fine for me. I do however wish XP would make and eliptical X35 for these tight palmetto thick areas down here... "Possum"

Possum - the 9.5 x 5 HF elliptical will do the trick in those situations. Don't let the HF part fool you, it can be operated as low as 13 khz if you need depth.

Thanks Hugh!!!

I went with the 11" HF because I was used to my 11" CTX.

I’ve used the 9.5 x 5” HF elliptical coil on the beach here and first time out with it, scored a beautiful silver ring.
I like the elliptical coil better than the 9” round HF Coil. It seems quieter. Good luck!

If you get both 9 HF’s you will a dangerous person.. haha. Killer coils. Sold the X35. To me the HF’s are more stable.
