Bought a box of old (50's) gun cleaning supplies on saturday at a yard sale. One of my hobbies is selling stuff on ebay. Was sorting through an old tin, and these items came out, what a surprise. All have been checked out to be authentic. 2 nazi party pins, and two old german money bills from 3rd reich era. Way cool stuff. Only paid $5.00 for the whole box.

I DEAL IN WWII GERMAN STUFF ON EBAY. COVER THE SWAZ. DON'T USE THE WORD 'NAZI'

Your top bank note is allied military currency from the occupation of germany. See the guides to determine if you have a rare variety. Common type not worth much. If you got german coins from the US occupation they book high. This is before the Bank Duescher Lander period with 1944 and 1945 dates. The bottom note is a war troiphy and has value. If it had a bunch of signatures it would be a "short snorter" souvenir note. You would pass around the bill and a botle and everyone would sign their name and take a snort. Those were most valuable when they show the date and location or detals. I have one that was stolen from a dead american in the philippines , inscribed by a japanese as a souvenir and then retrieved by a marine from the son of nippon's body. To the best of my knowledge ebay doesn't allow the posting of any swastikas due to complaints by the french. Photos are posted with the swastika covered to get around that. exanimo, ss

Very nice Finds on the Money and pins. I would not sell them on E-bay though. And I disagree with Tank on the Covering and not referring to the Swaz as the way to go. The sale of these Items is Prohibited and for good reasons concerning the Holocaust and to Profit from them in anyway is considered an offense by the Jewish People of this country and the French and German country's. While the recovery is not an offense it is illegal to sell these items on e-bay and as such I don't think as a TH'er you should post the fact that you are selling them or intend to do so since it makes us all look bad. The Painful Reminders of War are sometimes best left alone but not forgotten, and when it comes to the Holocaust this is not a pleasant part of history. As citizens of the world regardless of our origin we need to remember that other people are offended and as such we should show respect. HH

? ? Nice score Wayne!

Wait a minute people. Read Waynes post. He says he goes to yard sales cuz he sells stuff on Ebay. He does not say he plans on selling these finds on ebay.

I agree Slow sweeper. My comments were based on Tanks comment . I did not accuse anyone of anything. I just said I disagree with Tank who said he does" Deal in these type's of Items".

I would have a problem selling Nazi items to someone I didn't know. I'd be afraid some Nazi white supremacist would get them and wear them proudly. If I new it was a WWII collector I would be more inclined to trade or sell. Just my 2 Wheaties. HH.

You can even sell that stuff in Germany as long as the swataka is covered with tape.

Along these same lines,a friend of mine was hunting his yard and came up with a token with a swastika and the words Good Luck on it along with some clover relief. Any ideas????

Check the design of the symbol on the token.Long before Hitler and his "3rd.reich" defaced this symbol by reversing the "arms" on it,it was once considered a good luck symbol here in the states.Compare it to the photo in this thread,i'll bet the "symbol" is reversed.

Root, those tokens were produced here in the US as late as 1933, as a native American Indian's used that symbol (reversed) for a long time. I've got a link on that : http://www.luckymojo.com/goodluckcoins.html But, back to the original items, VWayne, good price for the items, but they are pretty common amongst the old Nazi pins. The first is a lapel pin for anyone who is (or was pressured to pretend to be) a supporter of the Nationalist-Socialist party. The second is common policeman's pin. I don't think either would sell for more than $20 on eBay...and, yes eBay does ban "offensive symbols" but doesn't always catch 'em all. But hang on to them...hopefully there will be a day when these can be looked at as just a piece of an awful part of history without the idea that some moron will think there's something cool about genocide.

Great finds, i'd keep em.
but i guess i do not understand ebays policy on this, does it mean that you can't sell a rebel flag or confederate money either, because it may offend someone :'( , don't people realize that good or bad, it is a part of history. how about if we stop selling anything that has "made in japan" written on it because it makes many american people upset. ( and unemployed also ).
i can certainly understand where it may upset some folks though, and yes there are still alot of jerks out there, i'd say that it's all in how you look at it, as much as it is where your from.
Pat.

I found this one in the ground on a field here in Germany where a parade was held.? Hitler was present for this parade, found a round aluminum swastika pin there also.? Is the pin still attached to it?? Yours, in it's pristine condition could fetch several $$$.? Nice find for a yard sale!? HH, Mike
