Those are spectacular finds! What variety is that King George V 1929 nickel. Far or near rim?

Good finds overall, how long it took you to pull out 242 wheat pennies?

It appears to be far rim, I was not aware there were two varieties, thanks. Went through $800 worth, not as good as I thought it would be

The far rim is more common than the near rim, but it's still a cool find. It is just cool how that steel penny appears to be silver. Maybe that is the second reason why they are rare. First being the magnet in counters. This stuff happened in Canada with the tombac nickels being too obvious and the 1967 nickels, which I found to be someone's cashed hoard.

I have found a couple Canadian victory nickels and a couple 67's and a 1970. Still looking for a tombac and 1951 (my goals). A lot of deer hunters here have gone to Canada over the years and there is no coin counters in the county to sort magnetic coins

I have a '51 nickel that I got while in Canada (was like 5 when I kept it, must have thought the coin looked weird and kept it).

Oh I see, are you talking about Nickel Refinery comm nickel or a normal 1951 steel plated nickel?
I haven't got any normal 1951 nickels yet.

Blurriness is ok, I just needed someone to upload an image to prove they exist. Where did you find it? It is interesting how I living in Canada didn't find a single 1951 regular nickel, but having acquired a pile of 1951 commemorative nickels.
