He does have a detector but hasn't detected in quite some time due to his knees. He is starting to feel better now so he is just about ready to get out again. If you are familiar with Fairborn at all and know the area...you will recognize my grandfathers bridge. When he was the Mayor of Fairborn he was responsible for having a bridge built that connected what was Fairfield and Osborne...hence Fairborn. The overpass bridge is on Maple Ave. and is now called the Anthony (Tony) Torch Memorial Connector, dedicated after his passing a few years ago. Just a little history for ya!

Yes, Luckygirl, I know the bridge but didn't know your Dad had been Mayor of Fairborn. What is his name? And my dad somehow knew the Torch family. I remember going over to visit them once. Unusual name, so I remembered it. Small world, huh.

God Bless You All

It wasnt my dad that was the Mayor...it was my grandfather. Tony Torch was his name. My dad's name is Bill Torch. They are an Italian family....Torch was shortened from Torchia when my great-grandparents came over on the boat.

Man,you must really have sore knees after that haul!! Great job, your making us buckeyes proud!!

You have an excellent site, and it's worth digging every signal! That is definitely Spanish, and they do tend to wear very thin. I found a half Reale, and it's almost anorexic! I've never seen another Spanish coin, so I don't know how thick they were to begin with. Great finds!

I found both a one real and two reales this year. A one real is the size of an American nickel and a two reales is a little larger than an American quarter.
