Detector(s) used
Garrett GTI 2000, Garrett Ace 400, Garrett AT Max and Minelab Xterra Pro. Two Garrett Carrots
The AT Max is the worst detector I've seen in 47 years of detecting. It looks like I'm gonna be on my third pair MS3 wireless headphones. The first pair only one side worked and the replacement pair will not pair together at all. Maybe the third pair will be the charm, but I'll bet not. Every time I deal with them I get a bad taste in my mouth. How many people out there are also having not stop problems with their junk as well? Don't get me started on the troubles with the AT Max. Non stop interference and iron sounds. It can't be used unless you're in the middle of a field, and you still get a non stop iron tone.

If Garrett just made hobby metal detectors, you could be right.

Luckily Garrett has a big security metal detector division and they make two excellent gold prospecting detectors.

Their newer Vortex series VLF has turned out to be pretty good after a rough start and several software updates. Definitely an upgrade for the AT Max.

I never cared much for the AT Max or the MS-3 wireless headphones.

From what I know, Garrett are in good shape financially.
