As title stated, anyone thinking of selling a hookah compressor?

I really don't want to buy a new one as it's out of my budget for my build.
I'm going to sell my t80 with my 4" so I will be able to recover up to 2/3's so I think I can swing it.
I would prefer a pump a 263 or gast but another t80 will do.

If I cant find then I may have to do something stupid like a compressor with oil and filter the CRAP out of it...well not really but if I really get desperate I may have to consider other options....

I'm willing to pay a fair price for the right pump.

I have a oil less puma air compressor that is electric and i put a pully on the shaft where the fan goes. But for less weight is better to take strator out. It costed me here around $150. Is way better than dealing with one that runs with oil.

I've considered that if I can find the right pump. I was looking at 12v pumps also but not sure how long a battery would last. On average I dive for 12 to 14 hours a day.

I would rather run it with the engine from the pump. No need to carry a heavy battery or worrying about charging batteries.

I would get a good setup. Ik being as shallow a miner is its less of a issue well maybe less idk if id agree but if been diving for a while and i was diving a low class pit in Indiana. At one time it was a hot spot but it had been let go but had alot underwater and i was land locked. While their we had our tanks filled their. They had let their compressor go. We got oil and other contaminates in our tanks. At 30 foot it dam near killed me sick dizzy a head ach like no other i had ever had. While i was in the keys i had a owner of a dive shop tell me how the rescued two guys hooka diving a shallow reef. Their setup was old and malfunctioned and one of the guys passed out at depth from co2

I couldnt find the pump but if you see a fan on it than there is where you would want to put your pully.

Omni, found this on ebay. GAST 5HCD-10-M527X SOLID STATE 3/4 HP THERMALLY PROTECTED AIR COMPRESSOR . If you aren't afraid of removing motor and installing belt drive, then options like this are out there. Look for diaphragm vacuum/compressor pumps. good luck

Timber I looked at that one, I had to dig up the specs and it's good, but if I'm going the mod route then I would like the price to be better. When I have to start buying things to make it work...I would be better off just buying a new t80.

This is the link to what I'm looking at,
Thomas Compressor 100 Model Pond Aerate Vacuum | eBay
Hopefully everyone doesn't buy him out from me posting it!

Guys, I DO UNDERSTAND the dangers of cheeping out on my air system. That's why I'm going oil less, will have filters and will be taking all the precautions. It would be better if I could find a pump ready to go but I havnt seen anything on ebay or cl and really don't want to spend on a new one.

I dont want to die even tho we are all going to.
But is there a real reason why people speak bad about other oil less air compressor.

I have heard this being said but no one has a actually explaination to why. I dont have a regulator in my air system but i take the air i want without it forcing my lungs since the other air goes out through another valve.

In the Philippines they dig up gold 25+ feet under rice paddies with nothing more then a hose in their mouth, think its called drift mining but they call it dredging. People die all the time from it but they still do. Life is cheep in a 3rd world country. All I can say to you P, you run the risk of dying every time you dive, regardless if you have the best equipment or not. You know you can drown on a very small amount of water. There is risk of foreign matter mixed in the air stream.. to many things to list. Think of the worst thing you can imangine to your air and ending up dead and go from there.

On a side note here's my T80's. Should have them in a week.
They need cleaned up and rebuilt...I'll have 3 T80's, will sell one with my 4" dredge and may mount 2 on my 6"...

How much you pick those up for? I'm in the process of completely rebuilding the used one I bought. We'll have to share info on where to get parts

Yeah i know about the fumes from the motor going into your air compressor could end up poisoning you and about diving without releasing the pressure in your lung and having it pop; but i find that with a air system almost that never the case since while you decend you are taking multiple breaths and there is something that occurs at over 30' but dredging takes places normally in less.

It's about the micron partials that may enter your system without a medical grade filter. If the pump wasn't designed for breathing/medical use you have no idea whats inside. I think they use diaphragm pumps for a reason. When you have metal on metal, you end up with very small partials being shaved off. After awhile those add up. I'm just guessing here, but the logic is sound. Even if it doesn't kill you today what about 30 years down the road. When you have to have to spend the rest of your life in a iron lung or carrying around a oxy bottle just to breath, you'll look back on your hookah system and say STUPID ME.

I picked them up for 75 a piece plus shipping being sent COD. I think it was a great deal. Clean them up, fix what needs fixing and mount them up or even sell one for 250 and come out ahead. I may just use them both if I get a tender to help.
