I hunted in a lot that I have found over a dozen Minie Ball Bullets. It seems this location was used to clean the guns because all but one were either shot or pulled. I found a fired .58 and a .69. I also dug a piece of lead that has been carved on and looks like it was some kind of bullet, I'm just not sure so I could use some help with it. I tried to get some good pics but it was difficult to get focused. Thanks, David.

GREAT carved bullet. Cool that you can see the knife marks. Possibly a chess piece?

I love your carved bullet. Such a personal item to find. Imagine, a soldier in the Civil War held that piece of lead and carefully hand carved it into what you see there. That's the one thing I love so much about this hobby. You can let your imagination run wild with each and every old piece you find.
