Once again, I turned a quarter into $$$ by finding a coin plaque. I found this California redwood plaque at recycling place. It's cracked down the middle but all the cash is there. The cashier charged me a quarter which made sense to me. Not sure, but it looks like approx $6 to me.

I found these at the local (Southwest BC, Canada) beach and was wondering if anyone could give some insight into what they are, and what language is on the one side. They are made of some type of metal, about the same weight as a coin (maybe a bit heavier). All 3 were found at the same time...
