Hi everyone.
Newbie here in need of assistance. I know nothing about this kind of stuff and my hobby lies more towards treasure hunting. With that said me and my girlfriend stumbled on this neat find on my great grandparents land in central WV.
Measuring 7 inches in length and 5 inches at the...
found what looks like a small cardinal with bright red coloration and bright orange beak with the black features on the face and mohawk typical to most american cardinals. not sure if it is a fossil or some kind of indian art.
found a bunch of these neat green, red, orange, and dark blue stones and noticed what looks like two little bird like people tucked together with the smaller one wrapped at the waist of the larger of the kin i would presume. Any ideas about what on gods green earth can explain this not so far...
Some curious stones and what looks like a large fossilized arm or leg bone I found hunting over the weekend. The fragment that is layered similar to bone is extremely heavy and 6-8 on long by a. Diameter of 1-2 in ( varying in places).
Trying to help a friend find out about this item. It was found in a river in Florida. It is about one foot long and about 2 inches in circumference. It was originally one piece but was broken when getting out of the ground. Any ideas as to what this is would be greatly appreciated.
Hello guys,
I'm a engineer, that loves old stuffs haha, I've started collecting old treasures like fossils, coins and arrow heads, I'd like to share all the things I have with you, learn and teach a lot. Nice to meet u all.
My best friend, Jake, is moving in just over a week and we go fossil hunting every couple of months. Me and my dad and him did it one last time today. We arrived at Westmoreland state park and headed down to fossil beach. We had a great time and a good haul! Mine included a dolphin vert, lots of...
I dug this heavy little piece and several other nice bones out of a dark orange clay bank (modeling clay). I think that is why this piece and the other bones is well preserved?
This piece is 1.75 and .25 thick, the back is concave. It weighs 16g.
Is this a Chunk-o-saurus or maybe a...
I found this at the beach today and I can't figure out if it used to be part of something, is a fossil, or is just a uniquely shaped rock!
It has a smooth curve, and the backside has a bit of a lip or ledge on it.
Any guesses? Thanks!
Ok this was found in the Gasconade river in Missouri. A few other hunters have told me that they think I'm on the right track with fossilized carved bone but we aren't sure. I have found several points and tools in the past but never anything like this. Thanks for any input.
I'm having trouble remembering where this came from. I have to refer to my notes but I thought i'd see if anyone recognized what it could be in the short term.
Thank you very much, any help is appreciated!
