Found my first silver coin of the year. In a ditch at the bottom of a small hill near a ball field. About two inches deep saw the plastic and shiny back of the coin. The coin looks great, just the holder is dirty. Lucky for me it was in a holder. The 3 other dollar coins were found Friday. 2 presidential and 1 Sacagawea.

No way, I've never seen one of those recovered, that's awesome. Don't you wish all your found coins came with a protective holder?!

sweet. don't know how silver eagles get lost in the wild, but somehow they do. Yours makes the 3rd or 4th one I've seen posted as a dug find. Congrats!

My guess is someone buried a few of those - and subsequently gave clues - for some kind of local treasure hunt. Maybe a detecting club or something.

Nothing like having it protected when planted/lost. Nice recovery!

That's amazing! I found one in a park nearby but it wasn't in a holder. What year is yours? (edit duh '08 )

Such a beautiful coin. Strange to find a non-circulating investment coin out there. Congrats.

Took it out of the plastic holder. Big storm the day after so forgot to post the pictures. Some toning near the foot and water or soil damage on the back but still great shape.
