1-14-07 Finds

Went out today....found the usual clad....3 wheats, 44, 51 & 57. I also found an old hoe about 7" deep...which I was glad when it was finally out of the ground.....phew and a horseshoe.

I also dug up a bullet that I am not sure what size it is. My brother thought it might be a 50 caliber bullet. It is pretty big....heavy also. Any thoughts on it??

That's a great looking hoe you got there! That was when they were still making them that you pushed up on the handle and had to put a little wedge in the handle to hold it on. I've been told that there's people on ebay that eat those up, and they like the dirt and rust left intact. I showed one I found to my neighbor and he flipped. I never pursued it, I still have it though.

That bullet sure looks like it can do some serious damage. I hope the deep freeze doesn't keep you indoors to long!

bullet looks like a 308 or a 7.62x54 hunting round

Hey nice finds and it is to small for a 50cal it is a 762 round I shout off more then 10,000 50cal rounds in the last 4 years

NICE FINDS,
SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAD A LONG DAY.
ONE TIME I DETECTED FOR 4 HOURS STRAIGHT,
I STARTED SEEING COIN SHAPED OBJECTS IN THE DIRT THAT WERE NOT THERE AND GOT DISEY
SO I CALLED IT QUITS FOR THE DAY AND GOT SOME FOOD!
