1/2 hour a night for 12 days. 100 coins, siver's, Glasses, Key, ammo, gold......
....... looking pendant, I think it's plated.
Now for the story. After our town celebration a few weeks ago after there were activities all weekend at the beach and picnic area, I thought it would be a good time to get some clad off the surface. I don't have alot of time to spend hunting during the day, but I can usually sneak out with one or two of my kids and do a short dusk hunt every night. I like hunting at dusk because the people are gone off the beach and I get left alone ('cept for the mosquito's). I have hunted the sandy area of the beach before but not the grass, I was in for a pleasant suprise.
The area is very trashy and I am not digging many shallow pull tab signals because of my limited hunting time every night. I know that I am missing coins because of it but I am not to worried, it just leaves me more for the future. Apparently no one else has hunted this area based on the fact that I can't move 5 feet without picking up a coin signal. Nothing I have dug has been deeper than 4" yet because I am leaving some deeper signals until I have more time, crazy I know but I have a hunch that they'll still be there for me later.
I have made two full passes in the grass just behind the beach sand and in front of the trees. So far 100 coins (clad), one wheat, a pair of glasses that have sen their better days, a shell casing from a 30-06, a key, 2 -.925 silver rings, and a gold heart pendant. I found the rings about 4" apart buried 2" into the ground in the roots. I was stoked when I found the first one, it was my first ring find. I was doing the happy dance and decided that I had better dig any signal in that area. Well, 15 seconds later I was holding my second ring found
I will be going back until I have hunted the entire picnic area, I am going to post as I make milestones in my hunts so it should be fun... for me anyways. Thanks for looking and HH.
