Well haven't posted in a while, after the rough storm season we had this spring the lake lever went up 2 feet, that brought a halt to my finding much. As bad as the 100 plus days here are it has been dropping the water level about an inch and a half a day, and now its getting where I can get to the better finds again. Anyway I got out around 7am sunday morning, I headed to a spot along the shoreline where I knew there is a lot of hard clay bottom, after about three hours of digging a full pocket of pulltabs and one junk ring I got a signal in a recess in the clay. It was filled with rocks in about 3 inches of water so I started removing the rocks expecting to find anouther pulltab. As you can see from the pics it was quite a surprise, finally found a large diamond. I took it to a jeweler friend today, it's a 1 carat old mine cut diamond mounted in platinum. Jeweler buddy offered $1500 for it

The size of the classic eight-sided table in this wonderful brilliant cut diamond is about just right for a brilliant cut diamond that it is.

1 Carat and Platinum update

Got the plat and diamond ring GIA graded today. it is an old european cut 1 carat diamond K-L color, vs1 . Only inclusion is a slight feather just off the crown, no dark carbon at all. good clear stone with good execelent flash. Platinum mounting probably from the 1920's to 1930's. he placed the current resale value at $4500.
Found a few more gold and silver rings in the past couple weeks just haven't gotten around to taking pics, nothing special but gold is gold and I plan on going in the morning so hope to find something interesting.

It's a size 6 3/4. This ring looks a lot better in person the pics just don't really show how nice it is

Totally Awesome

This is a banner brilliant cut diamond. Not a banner old european cut. You lose!!!

I don't understand your post, the certified senior gemologist from the GIA says it is an old european. It's not a brilliant cut. And how could I lose finding something like this, if this is lossing I wish it would happen every time out
