I found these 1960's and 70's Korean and I think a Philippian coins in the side yard of an old house. They and the pocket knife weren't anywhere a person would have expected to find anything like them. All I can figure out is that they came from one of our proud military members after returning from overseas. A mixed bag, several of those coins are actually Japanese. That makes for a interesting hunt.

Cool finds.
At the very least, surprising, which is half the fun.

Nice digs and thank you for sharing those pictures

I went back to the same house and found some more of the goodies, including a 1928 Mercury dime, an 1887 Indian Head penny, 2 Hong Kong coins, and some more of what I had before.

I am wondering why you found a lot of Philippines coins..

I felt like finding coins, and I have a good metal detector that will find almost anything anywhere. :)

Seriously though, ?? I can only figure that at one time someone that was in the military, Vietnam era, was stationed there. The earliest is the early 1960's and the oldest is 1975. Now how did they get into the yard, and not just one location, but spread across most of the yard? The imagination can do some crazy scenarios on this one...

Nice finds!
