OK Folks, I've been keeping busy by just hitting early 1900's houses around town. The permissions are getting easier the more I do, but the finds are nothing earth shattering.
I was able to check an item off of my bucket list, and that item was a "3 Merry Widows" condom tin from the 1920's - 30's era. I was hoping to find a hidden coin or two inside, but I got screwed. :crybaby2:The condoms were still inside. I guess this could be considered a"condom cache"?
Also dug a 1941 Merc, 1897 IH, 10 wheats, sterling silver ring, an 1800's convex "Gilt" button, clad, and asst'd junque.
You know when the highlight of your post is 100 year old condoms, the digging has been tough. :tongue3:
Thanks for l@@king,
MM

Now that's a cool recovery getting the 3 Widows still full. (I guess there's a family tree today because of that loss)
It's hard to get a lid that isn't eaten up/crushed with all the ones dug I only have 1 or 2 that are ok.
Nicely done on the silvers and the coppers.
Productive hunts, congrats

Yeah, this lid was brittle and the edges were crumbling when I tried to open it. You know how it is. You have to look to see whats inside. Of course I had to carry it one further with my brothers. I told them they taste like kettle chips. LOL.
Ewwwwwww.

FanDIMEtastic , cool ring, nice finds on the pennies and we all dig aluminum trash so please dispose of properly!
I have a bucket that I bring with me for the trash metal. Recycler just down the road too. 👍

I would not trust them after a hundred yrs. better throw them away. LOL.
I think I should send them to my younger brother. He’s got a new lady. They may come in handy. 🤪

Nice variety of finds. I have found 4 of the 3 Merry Widows containers, and luckily, they were all empty.
Lol. If they were on the same property the guy must have been busy. 👍
