102-Coin Day And A Bit O'Silver

Hi all,

It was close to 60 degrees in Missouri today so I went out to dig in the mud..here's a photo of me that my son took while I was out swinging away..

I hit some schools and came up with 43 pennies, 13 nickels, 14 dimes and 32 quarters for a total of $10.48.

I also found various other items, including 3 zippers, 2 pins, a large mood ring, a silver ring and a few pendants and buttons. I even dug up a Christmas tree near the blacktop.

At the last school I found this cool screwdriver, complete with 6 different bits, laying right on top of the ground.

Wow Nat! You cleaned up on some clad today! WTG!! And the silver ring is great too! You beat me on the $$ count today, but I found a little goodie and was tickled to pieces!

Looks like it was a beautiful day there, it was here too. Go get em again tomorrow!

I hope you don`t have to dig all that trash that comes with the nickel setting.

Nope, I got to the point where I know exactly how my machine behaves when it's a real nickel..the signal doesn't fluctuate at all so most of the time it is. Every so often I'm not exactly sure, so I go ahead and dig them anyway. About 1 out of every 10 digs may end up being garbage.

Thanks Moon..a little surprise now and then sure feels good, don't it? About 4 kids came up to me and asked if I was finding anything..within a minute I found the ring..boy I really made myself look good! I don't know if I'm going out tomorrow, I have absolutely no idea where to go since I've covered all the schools in 3 districts over the last year and I keep going back! I'm really looking forward to spring break and summer vacation..they should all be re-stocked by then!

You're right too, the good thing about the parks and playgrounds is that they restock themselves every season.  Gotta love it...

Hi Harry, no, that's my old Coinmaster II I was holding in that shot..I put it away and got my Prizm out before I found what's pictured above. I still use it sometimes and still find good stuff, but I use the Prizm mostly 'cause I like knowing what I'm digging!

40-50 Degrees today but still 3 inches of half-melting snow on the ground no hunting yet, still for me...
