Found this while hunting a lot where an old house was torn down. Its smaller and thinner than a dime. When I saw the face on it , I said to myself that it was some kind of coin but when I turned it over and saw the chinese symbols, I said no, its junk. I thought it was a piece from a bracelet made out of a fake coin. When I got home and looked at it with my glasses and saw the reeded edge and the date, I realized it was a silver coin. I looked it up and found out that Hong Kong was a British Royal Colony in 1901 and it was minted at the Royal Mint. Now I have to go back and look for the rest of the bracelet because it may have hade more coins on it. I also got a 1961 Canadian penny and a 1941 wheat back.

In England last summer I found a 1900 silver Victoria six pence from another British colony -- Ceylon I believe, that was made into a brooch, but it featured the "old Victoria head." Nice find! I hope you can find more pieces of the bracelet.

There was one posted here on T NET a couple of years ago that was made from seated dimes.
