Im using a 12x15 sef coil and when i shake the detector it falses , it also does it some times when i am sitting still but i just assume its emi caused by power lines anyone here use a sef 12x15 coil with this issue let me thanks

Tap the last few inches of cable where it enters the coil and see if it gives a low tone false. If so, it could be a short in the coil.

Also the coil may be over an underground cable or wire, and it doesn't beep constantly, it will beep once every couple of seconds or so, and also while standing still, that coil will go really deep.

As above it can also be a short in the coil.

There is one more option, it could be the detector it's self. Has it been in a hot car for more than a couple hours? Has the head unit ever been wet in rain or wet grass? Have you dropped it before?
All of these things can mess up the detector and cause it to not work right.

Give me a call at 800-898-6673 and we can trouble shoot it over the pjone.
