Got up early and took my son detecting to I site I've hit a dozen times. Last two times didn't get anything but was going to try to find trash pit. We walked about a mile in the woods and was just about there and I was hunting the side of the hill beside the original road hoping they threw their trash towards the river. When I got a solid hit. Dug down about 6 inch and got a copper. I filled the hole and then decided to recheck it and got a broken up signal so just started digging deep when my son said what's that. I look over in the pile and see like 10 gren disk scattered in the pile. Think I went in shock then lol. My son reched in the hole and dug out another. I picked up one and could tell it was a kg11 then a kg 111 after that I just bagged them up then swung the coil again and got two more we missed. 16 total 1700s coins. And one flat button about a foot away. I'd say my coolest find yet. Never thought I'd find a cache but seeing post on here new it was possible. Starting to just clean them with a brush and know I got two Connecticuts and a 76 irish and a kg11 and a couple kg111. Have 4 I can't tell yet. What a morning still can't believe it.

looked for parts of a purse but couldnt find anything, they were all stacked on each other. 3 were still stuck together and marks on most where they were touching

Fantastic. I love that yours included some state coppers. I thought mine were all kgI and kgIIs, but had a shocker when weeks later identified one of the ones that seemed totally worn as a 1600s William and Mary. Hope you get a surprise too.

Leddel is the only other person with a find like this that I know of:

Awesome find and a banner vote! Congratulations!

Wow Wow Wow !!! :headbang:

Wow, that set of coppers amounts to a variety that took many of us years to find. The beauty of detecting is you just never know what's going to be in your next hole. You hit the jackpot with your son watching and that's just wonderful. Congrats on an absolutely killer find

DANG!!! Thats awesome!!!

Nice your son was there to share it with you.

12 half pennies; it was my first tnet post. Material at my site was all consistent with late 1770s-early 1780s. Just missed the state copper boom!

Needless to say I have a fondness for these types of finds. Look forward to seeing yours get up top. Cheers

A find like that, and sharing the moments with your son- simply GREAT!

That young'un of yours should be thoroughly ruint for life now. Banner all day. Crazy to find that many 1700s coins in one spot considering many of us will die never having found even one!
