[Birky]

Wow...What a great story! Congratulations on a remarkable hunt. Its funny how time can slow down, and then stop when you have that realization that you have found something very special. I'll look forward to reading about your future discoveries from this site! HH

Thank you sir I appreciate all the kind words I got back there today and hit it hard. I'll let you know how it went soon

Congrats on a nice hunt. The Waynes Legion button is a fantastic find.

[Birky]

Big congrats to you! Exceptional finds for your area, and clearly only unearthed due to your research and persistence. Great story and photos, too. Glad we can celebrate with you...look forward to seeing what comes out of that area next.

I appreciate that Z.K and I'm very happy to share it with you
I got back to the site again before the snow rolled in am going to try and post the results this evening.

Congrats on the Spanish! But the real prize is the Wayne's Legion button. I'm voting Banner for that. Great story as well

Thank you OX and I 100% agree that the button is the real prize here. I still can't get over it!
I knew it would never make the banner but your vote was extremely kind

Thank you for the enjoyable post! Your finds are fantastic; silver, buttons and what looks like part of a buckle.

You're quite welcome Prof. Glad you enjoyed it!

The mystery black piece would drive me nuts...I love a good mystery and if I had found it I would pull it out all the time, take a good long look at it and ponder...hopefully someone recognizes the design and can offer a explanation why the metal is black. It doesn't look too melted to me...

You're absolutely correct it's driving me nuts! I've stared at it more times and in more ways than I care to admit
It got even worse when I went back for the second hunt and found another one The second one is a bit more convincing of course..and still indescript enough for my level of experience to decipher..

Will post pics from that hunt this evening if I get the chance.

Congrats on a nice hunt. The Waynes Legion button is a fantastic find.

Thank you Steve. That's as nice as it will ever get for me in my area!

I honestly will cherish that button for the rest of my life, however that may sound to others And the complements and enthusiasm coming from you experienced and knowledgeable guys just makes it that much better really

I'll bet it would make banner if you took a nice cropped photo of it and added to the original post

I personally think that it is best of treasurenet material

I'm not sure if "Best of Tnet" is an actual thing or what but I'm seriously honored by that sir. Thank you.

very nice finds. remarkable. How do you get your find looking so good. I am just starting to md and would like to learn how to clean my stuff. You got your stuff looking really good. Probably the best I seen here on TNET. Can you share with me what you did to get that quality finish.

[eureka77]

Man that's cool as hell that you found those old letters, did your research, and then actually found rare pieces and relics that go with it! Very nice indeed, congrats bud. Your post and others in the ''finds'' forum get me excited to go out and detect.

[eureka77]

Oh also meant to ask, When you said Elmers glue & water..... what does that do?

[relic lover]

Pewter buttons can deteriorate quickly once they are out of the soil they need to be sealed this is one method to do so

What a great hunt!! Its so exciting when things come together. The ground is frozen here. This gets me inspiration to do some research. Thanks for the great story. I hope you find lots more!!
