Very nice find. They command a fairly decent price and they can be had. Apparently they were not very popular at the time of issue, so finding one is astounding.

I would love to bag one of those, congrats.

Wow, that's a beautiful thing. I have not seen one of those in a while, and they're quite rare. Congrats.

I have never found one. Have found George I, II and III and Queen Victoria coppers, 1 Virginia Halfpenny, and a few early Spanish silver pieces. Not much of the colonial issues. They are all tough.

The only info. I can give you is I also found one and it's a favorite coin find of mine.

Great find!! You are lucky to have the experienced guys you hunt with who have learned a lot in the last few years!! Say Hi to Wolfie, Tim, and Luke for me!!

Great score!....
Dukes Co. has got to be a great place to hunt!

Quite a few Varieties for all three years (1722, 1723 and 1724) and some are quite rare and valuable. Congrats on a super nice find!

That thing is awesome :icon_thumleft:

When you ask for info, I'm sure you mean info specific to the variety of your copper. But seeing your coin did make me google a bit and these two links give some great general info which I enjoyed reading

Nice find,,
I have never heard of any being found in my area and we do have a lot of history here.
Congratulations

Very nice! I have a one pence and a two pence and they are both pretty rough. After seeing Caspar's I am tempted to put them through electrolysis.

I've never seen one dug In my neck of the woods, congrats

Vineyarder that's a killer colonial copper! One that we don't see very often. Tell me about your Mass silver?

Rosa Americana Coppers: Introduction
they get crappy because of the zinc in them - they have brass and silver too
its almost like they were the first clad type coins

Excellent find and congrats. Go careful on the cleaning. Those coins weren't made out of the best metal.
