Are those real emeralds or green colored glass? They have the luster of being the real deal.

I am taking the piece to our family jeweler this week....I will let you know what the verdict is.
 

Reale gems for sure, nice peice. Also I think the 1831 Small dime is a coin Kirk.

Well said! And a great find above from you! Those old house sites are where it's at. ;)


I would imagine those gems are real--if the piece is that old, paste jewels would not have held up well. And I wouldn't imagine gems in a really old silver setting being paste.
