1744 Globes and Pillars Facsimile cufflink- a beauty!

I got out for 30 minutes after a busy day. I cleared about 20 sq ft of heavy thorns and detected 10 minutes. Dig some nails and only one good keeper.



This is my first facsimile Spanish cufflink and it's a great example. I minimally cleaned it due to the fragile patina.



The ground was surprisingly thawed. Happy January. Any day out in this month is a bonus.

No gilt there ol' buddy. That's the patina flaking and the camera picking up the extra light. I figured if I lost the patina it would look like crud, so I just acetone washed it and used some renaissance wax. Thanks for looking Brother.

Less is more sometimes Jon. I see so many relics destroyed from over-cleaning. And besides, refined yet dirty is best
