🥇 BANNER 1770 8 Reale found today!!!!!!

God was on my side for this one guys. HOLY CRAP!!!!! A solid 97-99 on the vdi. Was expecting a hot rock, they give off those funky signals. But to my surprise, at this pounded out spot, with only 2 buttons found last time out here, and 4 today, I dig a 1770 silver 8 REALES. And it's completely intact with amazing detail!!!

I've been hunting this place since February and it's dried up a bit, but this find was just what I needed to NOT give up on it just yet! Thanks for looking!

Many congrats Matt on the banner find. Guess mine wasn't quite old enough to make the cut . BTW - I was noticing in your pics that it appears that part of the outside edge of your coin has that scalloped look while the rest looked smooth. Is that how your coin actually looks or is the camera playing tricks? Not sure what's going on there, or maybe it's nothing. Again, gorgeous coin and one that will be hard to top.

Or anyone else's 8R for that matter! I noticed the scalloping as well. It's quite beautiful.

That is the nicest i have seen here, banner for sure. Man your heart must have skip a few beats after seeing that in the hole. Go back and sniff that ground to death, there must be a few more that were dropped 245 years ago. Came out nice, not even blackened or just a bit, that silver must pure or almost.

Congratz for 'Real' on an Awesome coin, I'd wet myself if I saw that big of a coin come out of the hole.

Noticed someone said it might cost more to have it Graded & Slabbed than it's worth , Is that true.?
I don't know much at all about these type coins cause I never Found one.

Heck , I may buy one Someday just to have one.

I assume your buttons were the flat type ,going by the age of the Coin.
