1777 Counterfeit - Eyeballed!

The ground is frozen solid so I went for a walk at a field local to me and eyeballed this Irish evasion token...Gregory III evasion token! Not bad for not having a detector!

Someone must have made the decision post-Atkins that 1771 was a more accurate choice even given that the digits may not be quite following the rules. I didn't notice the G until you pointed it out. Other evasions have initials under the bust similarly though this one wasn't mentioned in my book -but the book I have is just a one chapter basic listing.

Counterfeit book should be out this month Evasions won't be covered but some of the more important families will.

I do think it makes more sense. I recall many 1771 but 1777 doesn't ring a bell with me at all.

Great evasive Think its Gregory 111 1771 looks very close to this in my book. Pity there wasn't more detail on the reverse.
