1795 Liberty Cap LC,1904 IHP,musket ball and a tiny buckle today...

Hey everyone!
Went out in the rain for a bit to an old spot that today produced my first (official) Liberty Cap LC!!! Unfortunately, the hydro treatment killed some of the detail but I assure everyone that this IS a Lib cap. When I pulled it I could make out the outline of the cap and bust not to mention how thick and heavy it was! The reverse is pretty toasted and it has a square with an X scored into it() for some odd reason. Luckily, I can just make out the date of 1795 and I also pulled some other finds within a 10 ft radius of the copper. Anyways thanks for looking and sorry once again for the cell pics (only temporary) and best of luck out there!

Well JW, I congratulate you on the 1795 Liberty Cap and the rest of your finds, but honestly, can't see anything but the blurr of the coin. Perhaps a sharper image would be appropriate..

Thanks! Yeah they hydro was a bad idea and unfortunately I'm stuck using my cell for now. I know it looks bad, I almost didn't post it as a result.

Nice pickup! Can definitely see the outline of the head on the obverse.

Thanks guys! It was only about 4-5 inches deep and sounded like silver. For the record it appears to be a smooth edge design and it's my oldest US coin to date. I may give up on using hydro cleaning, sometimes it works great and other times it's a disaster.

The hairbun on toasted drapeds often resembles a cap, but seeing your bust is off center to the right proves the pudding. Nice Find
