Took new ORX to hammered colonial site and ( hello)
quickly found this fine early American naval button.
So far no luck in determining which variety or relative rarity.
Most notable is the 13 (vs 15 +stars) and the backmarks
Extra Strong Gilt and Philadelphia. Any comments would be welcomed. HH

XP ORX is rather impressive.

Beautiful button. I'm no authority, but it looks to be a War of 1812 Naval button by the pic's I've seen. I have to one day break down and get a button book. Congrat's to you on a Great save.

That thing is a beaut. Congratulations.
