1818 Copper biscuit for breakfast, 1859 IH, modern silver

I went out with a couple friends for a dawn hunt. The minute it was light enough to see, we were off after a 7am pull of whiskey from Bartek's flask. No 5 minutes in I found a $20

First target was a Rosie, 2nd was a copper. Did about 3 hours and came up with a nice mix of stuff including a flat button and my first 1859 IHC (a design that was only made for 1 year!) I didn't really clean the 1818 Classic head because all the detail word have disappeared.

Nice finds Scraps. My daily dose of " luck " sucked today. Oil pump went out on the boiler so I had to call off work to get that fixed. Lost a day's pay, holiday pay for yesterday because I didn't work after a holiday and $258.50 for parts and service. Christmas? Bah Humbug lol

Sheez Dave, that's a bummer. I heard if you put a oil pump and repair bill under your pillow that the Oil Heat Fairy will reimburse you....Yeah, don't we wish!

Same thing happened to me last year. Nothing a good hunt won't fix

Of course. I could take a chance, but I have so many large cents that experience tells me that this one wants to live out its years with a little grime. The pics as always don't do it justice and make it look dirtier than it is.

As we all knows it's harder to not clean a coin than it is to clean one. Happy holidays

Looks like another nice hunt for you Steve. This weather has been unreal, & I cant even get out. Four weeks ago I had shoulder surgery, & next week I find out if I need a new knee or not. This is killing me. Guess I'll be ready for Spring.

Not a bad hunt at all, you made $10 an hour and walked away with a handful of keepers. Love that LC. My oldest IH is an 1862.

Ouch! But hey, if you get it done now you'll be ready by 'round last frost. Just had a friend have a full knee replacement. 3-4 months later she was a-ok.

Thx Loco. It was a nice little hunt and only a year away from a flying eagle that has eluded me. I've found an 1856 and 1857 LC, and now an 1859 IHC. Come'on! Lol
