1829 Andrew Jackson Button

Tonight I was looking at four wheat pennies and a flat button that I had found this weekend at the Civil War site where I found the CS buckle. The button is in poor condition but its definitely an Andrew Jackson button. It's a "backname" button with the inscription "ANDREW JACKSON PRESIDENT 1829" around the rim. --JB

I think it was customary practice for buttons to only have print on the reverse. Very plain simple times. Any kind of decorative adornment was rather rare in the early 19th century. No "I with stupid" T shirts.
