It's been a few years since I'e posted any finds. Health problems, I'm not a spring chicken anymore. I'm making a comeback, so maybe I'll be posting more often. I bought a new XP Deus II detector and this is the second short hunt (short because I'm still very much out of shape). I went to one of my old fields, it was beans, when I got tired I started back to the car. I hit a nice sounding target, 85 both ways on the Deus. It ended up being a very ruff beat up 1829 capped bust half dime. I was able to see at home with a loop clearly a 9 on the end of the date, the top of lady Liberty's head and other tell tail things to get proper ID

Well it's great to see you back digging some dirt again. Slow and easy wins the race they say.
I will say bean fields are kind, over corn stalks for hunting.

Well done on the Half Dime-a tad beat up but a welcome back recovery for sure.
Best of luck on your next outing.

Nice going! I'm not a spring chicken nor a stewing hen yet:D But last five years have been fighting nerve damage, pinched nerves and knee replacement gone wrong. Your also braver then a lot of guy's going for the deus 2, I'd be over my head or ears i think. Never found a half dime, always thought the capped coins screamed AMERICA.

Hi Brad- Looks like your comeback is well under way. A capped bust half dime is a heck of a way to start!
Congratulations on finding a beautiful piece of old US silver. Hope to see more posts from you in the near future!
Thank you, I've been looking for that bucket lister for quite a few years. I believe that muti frequency will help me find some good stuff

Congrats on your silver. To me I think that coin was a carved love token. It sure looks like it has a cursive letter in your last picture.
My buddy Scrappy thinks it got smoshed by something, I don't know. It's hard to see it without some bright sunlight. I'll look at it later outside when the clouds leave. I'll see if I can see what your seeing and I'll try and get better pix
