Giving up my first Walking Liberty half to the property owner on fathers day has already payed off big time as far as I'm concerned. I found nothing but clad in his yard after that Walker but he told me about an old cellar hole back in the woods on his property and though it isn't on my 1871 map I figured it was worth exploring. I found the place last night and only had a half hour or so to swing before a severe thunderstorm hit, soaked me to the bone and ended my detecting for the night. I went back tonight for a couple hours and came up with two awesome finds. An 1833 LC and an 1861 Indian Head. After digging the LC i hit a signal that i knew was an Indian Head and after getting it in my hand, even with my glove on i knew it was a "fatty" .I couldn't see the date but knew it sure felt different. I have both coins soaking in olive oil to see if it will make them a little more presentable. Sure was nice to see a 175 year old coin come out of the ground..holy cow, this is fun
Thanks for havin a look,
