Hi All,

My daughter went with me on Monday for a hike and to look for more foundations in the woods I got permission to hunt this winter. I showed her the one foundation I found this past Saturday where I got the Flying Eagle and other Large Cent along with buttons. Anyways we took our hike up the mountain and after about 20 minutes we came upon another foundation, so at the point two of our three goals were met. We found another foundation and got plenty of exercise. At that point I could tell my daughter was getting ready to go back home. I said to her what would top the day off if we could get one good find and then said we can stop at the first foundation and hunt for a little bit before we went home. I didn't need to swing the detector more then five minutes and I got a very quite deep signal. I dug down about 8 inches under a big root and the 1835 Large Cent popped out. It was on edge so that was why it was not to loud of a signal. We looked at the coin and could tell it had some nice detail under the coin. When we got back home I knocked the loose dirt off the coin and when I saw the reverse I could not believe what it was saying. To make sure I wasn't going crazy I sent an email to Don in Jersey and replied that it was a practice that they did back in the day with a knife he thinks. Well here it is and I guess I can mark that off the list of coins to find. Thanks for reading and looking.

The use of the word "c*nt" in the early 19th century was used to describe a stupid or dumb person.
The term originated in England in the 17th century in reference to a street name that became a catch phrase of sorts.
Today, it's still one of the most shocking words in my opinion that can get you really close to being killed by a woman after using the term. Lol

Lol....I have on similar to that I bought in a handful of 'junk' coins. Except for "one" was turned into "on". Sounds a little weird like that I must say.

This is the most enjoyable post I've read in quite some time. (trdking, I feel ya brother) Rather than contribute dialog on by tribulations regarding how the Family Law Fiasco oh so commonly denigrates otherwise loving fathers, I choose to remain mum on the topic so to not mingle the hobby I love so much, with that which I despise so much. I have too much respect for the hobby to voice my opinion on this other than to say "NICE FIND"

If this is for sale, I would like it to buy so I could plant it in an old park for my wife to find. Reverse side up.

That is a really nice condition LC, and the additional "handiwork" really makes it a killer find. Congrats!

I found one in 2011, after searching I found a coin site that showed them and referred to them as Brothel tokens.

Interesting one for the collection. I found a largie last year where the E in the word one was completely missing. No evidence of it ever being there. Pretty strange. Definitely a conversation piece you have there.... in the right company that is... :laughing7:

I'm curious as to how it was altered ? specifically how the bit forming the right side of the U is created ? Great Find !
