1836 capped bust half dime 1859 IH and CW relics and more at old house site

[Gregg3131]

Hit a old house site that has been productive for me this year. Today was no exception after a slow start I hit a few good pockets and saved some nice old relics including my second capped bust half dime. Also saved a nice IHP. 1840s/50s navy cuff button. Union Cavalry button some bullets and a beautifully designed Dandy button.

OMG very cool finds! I hope to one day find an old 1800's silver. Very very cool!

That is a heck of a hunt! Those are some great finds and I would have been tickled just to find the Calvary button! Nice job [emoji106]

What a great site you have there, Gregg..it holds a little bit of everything! Capped, CW lead, buttons....man, I'd be gridding that place like no tomorrow! Congrats on a superb day, Ddf.

The silver spoon deserves mention as well , clearly it's had a rough go of it , but this spoon likely dates 1850 or so , almost certainly "coin silver" - a special find indeed ! As incredible as it seems , a real silversmith (not a jeweler) could mostly restore the piece .Nice on the Cappy too !

[Gregg3131]

Thanks for mentioning the spoon I was wondering about it. It is stamped w.m kendrick. Does that help with ID?

[Gene Mean]

Great hunt! That must have been exciting.

[Argentium]

Yes ! The name is likely the maker's mark - could you please put up a pic of the mark ? This can help you date and place the piece !!

Whoa! Nice work! 🙌 Old gal looks pretty good for her age. 😁

[BLK HOLE]

Great looking finds, congratulations!

[Professor of Engineering]

Congratualtions on the 1/2 dime and relics!

[DocBeav]

That is a great spot! Can't wait to see what else it gives up!

[Truth]

I found my first 1837 Bust half dime last week. Just as exciting as finding my only 8 reales because the half dime is so so small.

Here is the photo of spoon. Says WM Kendrick. Any experts? Was this silver plated or real silver? Its pretty light.

There's an eagle poking through the dirt on the back of that flat button, need to clean it off and see if there's anything else under there!

[Gregg3131]

Cleaned it up. Its early 1800s british I believe
