I have been hunting a old colonial site hard for the past week and have dug over 30 coppers ranging from KGII to Large Cents and numerous buttons but have yet to pull a silver until today. I dug a 1852 silver 3 cent piece. You never appreciate how small they are until you actually dig one half the size of a penny and a 1/4 of the thickness. Hopefully I can get some bigger one in the spot soon I know there has to be more old silver with all the coppers and buttons i'm pulling.

That coin has eluded me as well. Congrats on the finds, you have an incredible site there. Thirty coppers at one site just blows my mind! What kind of activity to you think occurred here, do you think it was a tavern?

According to my 1876 maps there was a store along with 9 house all bunched together on this one corner. Really suprised we haven't found more silver to be honest. Alot of the coppers are coming deep so I'm sure more silver are there just mayber deeper. It's only a matter of time before I make them show ther faces. I'm pretty confident on that.

when i dug mine last year i had no idea what it was until Jeff of pa told me. i was not expecting to find one in my life time.. good job....

That is sweet and still on my list.

Congratulations.

Very nice find.

On the top of my wish list too as I often find myself thinking while digging a plug, "wouldn't it be great if this were a three center" :icon_thumleft:
