1853 seated love token and chauffeur's badge

met up with a couple of friends last night and hunted a city lot. there were 3 of us and everybody dug an IH so that was cool. I found the seated love token at about 6 inches. (made from an 1853 dime) Also found my second chauffeurs badge a 1924. The seated token is in bad shape, looks to have had some sort of poxy on it at one time maybe, can't clean it off, any suggestions? thanks for looking all and HH, Griff

Nice finds for sure, take good old elmers glue,thats right elmers white glue, put it on wax paper first put glue on top let dry and peel it off,works like a champ will not hurt coins, then you can try freezing it,coin contracts surface material will loosen, thaw it out and that will help too. No harsh cemicals no damage to coin.Works wonders believe me. Hardrock

Nice finds for sure, take good old elmers glue,thats right elmers white glue, put it on wax paper first put glue on top let dry and peel it off,works like a champ will not hurt coins, then you can try freezing it,coin contracts surface material will loosen, thaw it out and that will help too. not for sure, but it looks like it had some sort of poxy or solder on it to attach it to something maybe. might try the elmers glue trick to see if it helps. but could be burnt too i don't know. thanks though

thanks, I've seen some as early as 1915, there are probably some that are a little older.
