I headed out to a local park that we have detected to death. I was detecting about 1/2 hour digging junk when MarkGPa got there and within his first 5 minutes he got 2 nice coins right next to eachother. (I'll Let him tell what they are). JohnnyMc got there a few minutes later. After digging a few more shotgun shells, I got another junk signal and got an 1864 Indian. It's pretty worn but I was happy it was a coin.
Thanks for looking
Ken

Nice Find KEN were you doing some Extreme Hunting
In the Rain through the Ice, or has your Ground & Weather
been better then up here ?

My sidewalk is still 2 Inches Thick with a sheet of slick Ice
along with everything else. & The rain came down
in buckets all day yesterday. Did hit 59 Degrees Though.

Congrats on the Good Year Indian !
Jeff

I guess it's extreme detecting. It was raining pretty hard and there was about 2" of Ice and snow, but we were in the woods so it wasn't too bad and I have the Rain covers for the XLT.

Braving the weather really paid off for you! Nice job!

great find Ken :) i hope to get in another hunt or two before the first and would love to find an indian ;) congrats on that beauty !

That's a pointed bust to boot, very nice. Check the date carefully for a repunched date, you may find parts of dates inside the 8's and 6. See the cherry pickers guide to rare die varieties, excellent reference for indians. I found a repunched 1864 pointed bust a few years back.

WTG! ;D One of my favorites!
