congrats on that IH! The 1877 is a rare one. Not sure what the value would be but I'm sure you're just happy to have found one. I know I would be anyway!

WTG!!

yea, send it PCGC and have it slabed!!!!! Off the top of my head its worth a few hundred bucks, even very poor condition!!!!

DO NOT CLEAN YOUR COIN, JUST RUN UNDER RUNNING WATER TO GET THE LOOSE DIRT OFF, NO SCRUBBING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could you please tell me a little more about PCGC and how I would go about this?? Thanks

Congrats on a great find! It is the rarest of all Indians, and my Numismatic News coin market report shows it at $900 in Good-4. Sweet!!

Continued success.....

Way to go 93V my red book says that a 1877 in G-4 is 425.00 so you may have something there HH Roy

Wow! I'd say that's Banner material.

Only 900 were produced....Redbook hits it at $750.00 in G-4...yours has got to be worth a few hundred...

Congratulations on an OUTSTANDING find...

Nick

I think over 800,000 were minted, not 900! Still a super sweet find!

In the past I just went to my local coin shop and asked if they were able to submit coins to pcgs, they were. The cool thing about PCGS, PCI, NGC, You will always get more money for your coin when you sell it. (PCGS is probally the most reputable coin grading service out there.) I would send it to PCGS over the other leading grading services any day!!!

Yeah. I think that may be the number of proof strikes he saw.

But a run of 800K cents is a small year nontheless

Amazing! I have yet to crack the 1880s with IHs. Congrats.

BANNER! BANNER! BANNER!
What a great find. The holy grail of IH's!!! Congrats on an amazing find. My closest to that year has been a 1874.
Keep us posted on the results of this beauty.

All I can say is WHOA! WHAT AN AMAZING FIND! YOU ARE IN THE MONEY NOW.
i WISH EVERY COIN I FOUND WAS WORTH THAT MUCH, I COULD QUIT MY JOB!

Sorry to crash your party but do any of you read the other forms? :icon_study: I just think you should all know the truth about getting dug coins graded. So your not disapointed in the end... :icon_scratch: If your lucky it will come back as AU 50 or cleaned. Likely if you send it to PCGS they will send it back unslabed in a plastic 2x2 flip saying its a (Dug) coin. Don't fret you can still send it to ANACS or some other grading company and they will likely slab it but grade it as (Dug or Cleaned). But if your lucky someone will grade it AU 50. That's the normal grade for dug coins is AU 50. Check out the other forms. http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php?topic=144214.0

Keep @ it and HH!!
