I got out for about 3 hours Sunday and had a bit of luck. Here's the front of the 1877cc seated dime, she was deeeeep! I was using the Explorer SE with a Explorer II coil (bobbing eyebrows).

Here's the reverse, it was packed with dirt so I had to wait until I got home to see if it was a cc and it was!!! CC's are my favorite mint marks because they are hard to find on the east coast and they are the only two letter mint marks, plus I just like them!

Here are some other finds. I think that's a nearly featureless two cent piece, I tried all kinds of mojo but it was a lost cause. That's the good side by the way. Also found a couple old jewelry thing-a-ma-bobs, one heavily corroded 1887 IH, and a couple wheats which I have gained a new respect for after finding the 1909s. :D

Beautiful coin. A CC minted coin is amongst items on my wishlist. :)

Nice job on the seated and two center. ;D Those old coins seem to follow you where you go.

Did you ever clean out that Bandstand area in Washington Park(NY)? Outraged went there and found a peace dollar. I don't know what part of the park he found that in but how could you miss that!? ;) :D ;D

That bandstand and park will never be hunted out. Every time there's a good long subzero freeze in the winter the ground heave brings stuff up, flips coins over that were previously on edge, you would be amazed at how previously pounded to death spots give up more loot each spring. The rusty bottlecaps are also constantly rusting away to nothing revealing coins they have been hiding for years. But yeah a peace doller, who knows how we all missed that one but its a big old park. I never hit every inch of it and I hunted it for several years.

Really awesome cc, I found one earlier this year (1875 cc), but it was a lot more worn than your coin. WTG

I hope you missed more than just that one dollar!!! Only time will tell...I will report back tomorrow and let ya know!

Great find!

I am still waiting for my first seated coin.

WTG!

WTG Charles!! Thats a nice looking coin you found. After talking with Joel a little more, I am going to call sandy and request that she send me an EX2 coil for my SE also. Joel has told me it was a "day and night" difference over using the stock slimline.
