1891 V and my first axe head

Went back to the area where I found the nice Buffalo the other day, and found a decent V nickel. That was about it, so I wandered off and just walked around. Found a pile of crap, a few more coins, and then my first axe head. It must have been a foot deep, and it's in pretty rough shape.

It looks fairly old to me, anybody have any thoughts on it?

Nice recovery on the V and the 1920 cent. I'd like to say that boot has done walking.
Not sure on the ax head, there was dating thread put up a while back, but have seemed to have miss placed the link.

Thanks A2. Even with my mild soil most nickels are a little crusty, so finding nice ones is a treat.

I laughed a little when the boot came out, certainly wasn't expecting it. I'll have to scour the site and find that axe thread!

With all the lumber jacks up north I figure you have a nice collection of axe heads? You haven't been passing over the iron and "cherry picking" have you?!? Ha ha! Just teasing mate. I know you are hard core and dig it all. Your trash tells the story. I do love that boot. Set that on your toilet so when guests use your bathroom they can ask you what the hell is that boot on the toilet? Great finds, pics, and post.

Nope, this is my first axe head, and I was glad to find it. I've been going over this spot for 8 years and the signals are getting pretty thin, so I'm digging more and more signals I'm sure are iron. Sometimes a nice coin pops out so it's worth it.

And if I put that boot on the toilet, I think my wife would give ME "the boot" haha
