HOLY MOTHER OF MY CAT! Do you know who J. Stow was? That is a brass 18TH CENTURY Chippendale style drawer pull.

Think on it! J. Stow.

Think on this "Pass and Stow".

Think - Philadelphia.

Think - "National Treasure" film...

Got it?

BANNER!

These guys recast the LIBERTY BELL.

I googled him English historian and antiquarian?

No, the other guy. Try "Liberty Bell". They made brass castings.

Tell me more Smokey

Super finds. Congratulations :icon_thumright:

John Stow along with John Pass recast the Liberty Bell at Stows foundery in Philadelphia March 1753

John Stow died a year later...at 28 years of age. There is a genealogy online.

Yeah, holy freaking cow! Makes me want to drive to Phllly this week and see it again!

That's a nice bunch of finds- sweet, better-date Barber too- Congrats!

Wonderful finds!
The depth and breadth of the knowledge here is as astonishing as the finds.
We are all fortunate to be parts of such a community.

Agreed, its the back plate of where the 18th C drawer handle for the furniture went.

Congrats on the great finds. You have some very nice keepers for your collection.

It is an amazing find. The other finds would have made anyone's day, but that is unreal. More than like the furniture it went to was tossed right after the civil war, so the dresser or whatever was probably just over 110 years old when they got rid of it. Makes perfect sense.

Most of my clothes are that old:laughing7:

Nice congrats on the great finds. I really like the barber myself... but that J stow piece... if smokey is excited you know you have something!
