I had a great hunt Saturday with my buddy Lanny! We got out to the site where I found the plate & NC button recently. We found more signs of the troops being there during the Civil War. Thousands of union troops marched right by the house in May 1865. Lanny found the NY button & eagle button a few feet from where I found the NC button. He graciously gave them to me to keep with the collection from this site. A few yards away I found the lead knuckles (that must have hurt when they broke!). I also found the powder flask, toe tap & 1894 Dime nearby. The owners father told of Civil War soldiers being on the property, it’s great to find more to add to the story! Sunday I got out to a site I’ve hunted for years & found the musketballs, flat buttons & 1901 Indian Head. I haven’t been able to get out in a few weeks because of the weather & being sick. It was great to finally get out again & save some really cool history! Too bad that dime isn't an "S" mint, eh? :laughing7:. Still, not a common date. Well done!
