I got out yesterday to my new farm where a log cabin used to stand. I found a nice fully-intact Crotal bell with the rattler still in it. It has a 1 on the side. Any age on it? It appears early. I also found 4 buttons with two being crude pewters. The AT Gold is killing it in the iron. I love this machine. Does anyone know what the last two items are in the last pictures? I have permission for a new field for the weekend. It should produce and I am kindly inviting Kyle to come along.

Keep the passion high!

Sweet hunt!!

The Crotal bell with clapper still intact would have been enough for my hunt to be a success. Throw in some flat buttons as a bonus, Awesome!!
I could dig Crotal bells all the time and I wouldn't get tired of them. Love the Crotal bells!!

I like them little crotal bells, always a nice treat! I'd bet they date as early as the mid 1800s and on.
One of your little mystery items might be a spout from a powder flask, it got the look!

I believe the first what is it picture is a old ram rod tip. I loaded a quick picture of a slightly different one but you get the point! [emoji2]

Beautiful finds Kirk. Not many bells that old are found intact. Very nice buttons too.

Nice going there Kirk - the coppers shouldn't be too far behind. My partner Dan uses an AT Gold too and kills it in the iron so I don't think you're gonna go wrong with that machine.

Great finds, but the next to last item looks like a piece of flared copper tubing to me, about 1/4" ID.

I'm on board with the flared tubing guess. I've dug those items before. Not a ramrod, because I've never ever seen a ramrod made of anything but iron.

Welcome back, and congrats!

It probably isn't a ram rod tip but they were made of other metals than just iron. Some were wood shafts with metal tips. Here is just one example....
