Found this this afternoon. Filled a gap in my Buffalo Nickel collection! Should I try the peroxide cleaning on it?

Nice coin to find!!!
If I were you, I would clean it. Try peroxide, if that doesnt do the job,
try a bath of hot vinegar and salt, but ONLY leave it in for 30 seconds
at a time until you like what you got.
Let us know how it turns out, with cleaned photos, please.

The nearly extinct Buffalo...found! Nice job. jgas

Nice coin. I've been having good luck with lime away and a soft brass brush on my nickels. You can see the one I found in Missoula that I cleaned with this method in my post from yesterday "a week worth of finds".

Cool old coin!!!!

peroxide doesn't do much on nickels use vinegar/salt, it only takes seconds!

Nice nickle! Congratulations!!!!
Can't wait to see what salt and vinegar does to clean it up.
Very very nice find.

I think you'll want to experiment with other nickels before you try ANY method on that one...some have had good results with salt and vinegar--but you'll want to be sure to use baking soda afterwards to stop the vinegar reaction!

I'm sure there are threads in the cleaning section.

Nice find, I like how it looks in the photo. I would leave it as is.
