Being a gluten for punishment I went back to the street tear-out. Spent two hours digging several pull tabs, screw tops and assorted trash. Then hit a nickel long shot signal at the base of the exposed wall of dirt where they removed the curb. The ground is SUPER dry here so I had to hack it apart to recover this. I am surprised that I not only did I not chop it to pieces digging it out but that’s it’s not corroded, encrusted or patinated. Does not appear to be silver. Acid tested, Got a black streak

Now thats different. Congrats on a great recovery.

I’m gluten intolerant so I couldn’t read your post 😂😝

Seriously though. That is a cool medal. Any plans to try to find a grandchild or great-grandchild? I’m on a phone or I’d take a peek at FamilySearch or Ancestry. Maybe they have something…

What a great recovery! Would love to hear more on family history and if anyone is contacted!

All of her direct descendants appear to be deceased and there was no record of grandchildren.
