I got out today and the first find was the 2 Lincoln cents. The ground wasn't to bad since the weather has been nice lately. I scratched the back of the 1917-D. The thing I thought was the bottom of a light bulb turned out to be an old twist cap and two pieces of copper wire. The place I went today was a quarry years ago and now has walking trails. I've been there about 4 times and only find wheat cents no silver.
The thimble I got last week at an outher place.

I just put them in hot peroxide once with all the dirt on them. They were in sandy soil and in nice shape. The ground has a little frost and since they were close together I think that's why I nicked the one.

DON'T CLEAN THEM. THEY WILL BE WORTH LESS. COINS CAN STILL BE GRADED AND COME BACK WITH ENVIROMENTAL DAMAGE.
IT'S YOUR CALL.

Boiling peroxide doesn't hurt wheat pennies or Indians. Chill its the holiday season, your supposed to be happy :icon_thumright:

These wheat's are worthless. Not worth posting on eBay. As far as having them graded and slabbed I will let you have them as long as you send them in to be graded and slabbed and you can keep all the profit. Just pay me to have them shipped. $2.80 let me know.

I need/want to find one of those sterling thimbles. :icon_thumright: On my wish list.

Congrats on the Sterling Silver Thimble find Rodger!!! :notworthy:
Definitely the best of the bunch!

The date marks tell me it was assayed in Birmingham, England and dates to 1906! :icon_thumright:

Thanks ANTIQUARIAN. I did try to look it up and ended up looking at hundreds without a match.
