The wind and waves were kind to me today....The thunder not so much... It passed quickly so I ran out into the water and was happy as a clam... The sun broke just enough to get some people onto the beach... It was another slow day, and the targets were far and few in between... Made the most of it... I was off a little today... Most targets were so deep, that it took me fifteen minutes just to retrieve them...so that's 4 targets an hour...slow progress that way, I had to move, it was making me crazy... Most of them junk, and to big to remove from the water... I got a nice Buffalo Nickel a Mercury Dime and an 1878 Indian Head Penny.. missed by one year...dang....I also got a chain with a brass pendant that turned out to be stainless, it was the way things were today... I got a very nice heavy sterling ring with a GOLD sizer band attached to it.... They still lost it... after about an hour I got a low tone and I managed a nice 4.2 gram 1958 Jr. Prom 14 K Gold Pendant... I looked hard for the chain...no luck... So it was all good. two small gold today and again happy as a surf clam for the ride home... I'd like to know too!

Very cool finds Whydah !!! You had a great day.

It still doesn't seem right that gold has low tones when it is one of the most conductive metals. You would think it would be a high tone.

WTG,nice finds:thumbsup:,,HH

Now that is a cool find. I wonder what story it has to tell.

A couple things come to mind, first one is that I can hunt in all metal mode then when I get a target I can push a button to discriminate, sure takes the work of it with this machine verses the excel...

It finds chains and lots of em, the excel doesn't... I am not saying that it wont if the charm is still attached to it but your chances are better with the 30 -30... It simply loves smaller gold items too... It picks up the tinyest objects I have ever found and so deep too...

I hate to pin one against the other especially when they are both made by the same company... They both have there purpose... I love hunting in all metal mode with both machines... The 30 - 30 is the perfect machine on silver coins and jewelry...... I just can't say enough about the depth and perfect pin point mode it has... Check some of my posts from this season and tell me what you think....

Now I know this may cause a lot of unhappy replies but I am speaking from my own experience with the both machines... It's all personal preference.... Happy Hunting
