I headed out of the city to a small town where they opened a new GW a few months ago. Since most of the GW's in my area are terrible with lots of competition I wasn't expecting much but lo and behold I found this huge platter and lucky me it was marked Sterling. Weighs in at 1LB 6oz. Here is a pick still in the store.

That's sure a statement piece. Who's the maker? My local GW is a very poor producer, but I have found a few things. They took the jewelry case out years ago now. I believe all the jewelry now goes to their online store for auction.

Good score. The picture isn't great, but it looks a lot like one of the variations of 'Rose Point' pattern from Wallace. Any marks?

Yes it is marked Wallace Sterling. The edges are slightly scalloped. Paid $4.99.

Thought it might be. The Rose Point pattern was designed for Wallace by Wliiiam S. Warren in 1934, but I don't know how long it was in production. Bargain price... you did really well!
